Communities of Faith
Food, Climate + Faith
We feel that there are opportunities in already established communities that have the decision-making capability, land, willingness, and concern. We asked ourselves, who are those existing communities?
Communities of faith are exactly one of those unique communities, where there is a congregation, leadership, structure and governance, youth ministries, and land. Many communities of faith have a campus, whether it is a half-acre, or even a quarter acre, which is a lot of land in a city. There’s a deep love of life that stems from communities of faith.
The Climate Resilient Sanctuary, Food, Fellowship + Faith
We are developing a new curriculum, an interfaith curriculum, to train people from communities of faith to come learn how to do the design and implementation with their own congregation. The leadership from each of these congregations will come together and learn this permaculture curriculum that they will in turn take home to their own congregation, with a blueprint of how to move forward and can be adapted culturally to their own group.
The goal is to grow food, engage the congregation, and bridge into a conversation about change. The program is called The Climate Resilient Sanctuary, Food Fellowship and Faith. The goal is to do a pilot project and then invest some energy into creating a curriculum that can then be shared. Whether that goes on the road, or we are invited for a public speaking engagement, we want to spread this great message of hope for people.
Consulting + Design
Our clients are diverse. We work with everyone from a small backyard in an urban setting to give them an edible landscape where they can grow some vegetables and a couple fruit trees, and maybe have three chickens, all the way to, 1000-acre agroforestry projects in Central America.
Public Speaking
Getting an audience is a privilege. Being able to stand up in front of an audience and share a message of hope is a privilege. And we really enjoy doing it! We’ve spoken at green conferences, permaculture conferences, art conferences, Rotary Clubs, and more.
Permaculture Courses
Permaculture teachers are bound by the international standard curriculum, which holds the test of time. We really enjoy teaching permaculture, for us, it’s not enough anymore to just teach that curriculum, climate change must be taken into consideration.
